Founded in 1975, the Northern California Book Publicity & Marketing Association (NCBPMA) has, for thirty one years, been devoted to education about the publicity, promotion, marketing, and distribution of books throughout Northern California and beyond.
We offer two different types of memberships for you to choose from:
- Multiple: Up to four individuals receive Newsletter, Resource Directory, and discounts on programs—$150
- Single: One individual receives Newsletter, Resource Directory, and discounts on programs—$60

* Our regular events include monthly breakfast, lunch, or dinner programs featuring radio and TV producers, booksellers, wholesalers, marketing professionals, book review editors, and others; workshops on the nuts and bolts of marketing, publicity, and promotional topics, with follow-up "brown bag" lunches to continue discussion and the sharing of ideas; and the Annual High Tea at Book Expo America (BEA), featuring selected national and local media and booksellers as honored guests.

Butterfield Scholarship Grant Winner Announced
The 2008 NCBPMA/Butterfield Scholarship winner was announced on April 24 and is Jason Hardy Burks. Since July 2007 Jason Hardy Burks has been doing an internship at Small Press Distribution in the marketing department. The Scholarship Grant will allow him to work on an academic marketing project with Small Press Distribution.
The NCBPMA/Carol C. Butterfield Scholarship Grant was established by Carol
Butterfield’s friends and family to honor her memory and to continue her
efforts to help individuals develop their careers in book marketing,
publicity, and sales. A $3,000 Scholarship Grant is awarded every year in
April.
