2011 was an historic year in publishing. We bade farewell to Borders and now watch the metamorphosis of B&N. We held our breaths through industry-wide layoffs and new Amazon-created imprints. We cheered the strong end to a tough year for many independent booksellers, as new and improved reading devices debuted in what felt like record numbers. What's next?
At the dawn of 2012, we gather veteran members of the publishing community to discuss their focus, plans, fears and what excites them about 2012. Just as our President comes before the nation to talk about the state of the country each year, we'll attempt something similar, with a moderated discussion about the state of our industry.
